Bologna Children's Book Fair travel prep: how I book my accommodation and flight AirBnB review

February 8, 2018 Romica Spiegl

Hello,

in this video I'm sharing how I prepare for Bologna Children's Book Fair 2018. I talk about how I book my accommodation using AirBnB (see coupon code below) and how I book my flight with checkfelix. I talk about my AirBnB experience, why I would recommend it, and what you can expect when using AirBnB for your journey. This video is not sponsored but if you sign up through the link provided I will get 15 GBP travel credit once you made a journey over 55 GBP. I will also give you a short review of checkfelix which I use for all my flights. It's a search engine for flights with amazing search features like price, arrival times, flexible dates etc.

I really hope you found this video helpful and that I can meet you fellow illustrators and authors for this amazing Fair in March.

Share your thoughts and like this video if you liked it. This helps the video to be found by other wonderful people like you.

Stay joyful,
Romica

Life of an illustrator: Taking creative breaks, sketchbook tour, and how to start drawing again

January 26, 2018 Romica Spiegl

Hello,

in this video, I'm sharing my thoughts on drawing every day and how the idea of not being able to keep up with drawing daily has really made me feel guilty of not being "a real creative person". However, over time I have realised that it is okay to take creative breaks and how I can get myself back into drawing e.g. through creating small creative habits that I do not share with anyone in the beginning - just drawing for myself. Now, that I feel ready to "be back" creatively, I'm opening up my sketchbook from that period to show how I have started drawing again.

Can you relate? If yes, how do you get yourself drawing again? If not, what are your tips and tricks you could share with fellow creative people?

Share your thoughts and like this video if you liked it. This helps the video to be found by other wonderful people like you.

Stay joyful,
Romica

Jan update: my time in Austria, exciting news, and keeping new years resolutions - life of an illustrator

January 24, 2018 Romica Spiegl

Hello,

I'm back from Austria and feel more relaxed and excited for this new year. In this video, I share some exciting news plus I talk about what I've been up to during my two weeks in Austria. I also share what I have been doing since coming back home to put my new year's resolution into practice. This covers my new plank exercise routine, how I take better care of myself e.g. finally getting a professional massage for my back - illustrator problems - and all the new things I baked and cooked from kimchi to banana bread. I also mention my idea of creating a new product line to support my income next to my online classes of gouache illustration and children's book illustration.

How were your holidays and what have you been up to?
