Have you ever wanted someone to talk to about your creative journey or career in illustration? Someone who can just listen and can give advice, and share their insight if you need it?
Maybe you want to talk about taking the next step in your creative journey or illustration career, especially in children’s illustration?
Or maybe you are just starting out and want to voice your ideas or concerns, get your portfolio ready for art school or uni?
Maybe you are feeling stuck and want to find out what is possibly keeping you from going further?
And maybe you are an established professional and just need to get out of your head and would love a sounding board for your thoughts and ideas?
I AM HERE FOR YOU
1:1 coaching sessions
I started offering creative coaching sessions - aka 1:1 chats where you can talk about anything that relates to your creative journey or career as an illustrator. You can ask me anything, pick my brain, get feedback on your portfolio, book idea, or videos - whatever feels right for you at this moment.
Portfolio reviews
Rather only have some feedback on your portfolio? I specialise in picture book illustration and personally had many professional portfolio reviews with major publishing houses. The only trouble that I have often had is they are so short that you can barely talk about your work before it is over. It is often more of a pitch than a real deep portfolio review.
I will give you more than just “Oh, I like that, that’s nice” but explain what I think works. I will check your picture book portfolio for enough variety, narrow down your pieces to attract professional clients, and talk about what might be missing and can be added to create a complete package to easily send out to ADs, publishing houses, and other clients that work with children’s illustration.
My background:
I have a BA in Graphic Design and have worked on book design for several of my own projects. I have a trained eye for colours (it is something I have been complimented on by art directors many times) and have trained with colour tutor Docherty in Cambridge, I also have a keen eye for composition, and storytelling and keep developing my own skill set through courses, training, and reviews by industry professionals. Although I do encourage you to do the same, I can share my knowledge and skill that I keep updated so you do not necessarily have to.
I love to champion fellow illustrators, especially in the children’s illustration and picture book world. It’s something that lights me up.
